A Little Drop of Water: Uhuru’s Support Brings Hope to Jusbua Educational Centre
Last week, the team from Uhuru for All, a U.S.-based NGO founded by Mr. Abdul M. Sidiq, returned to Jusbua Educational Centre in Gomoa Wassa, Central Region, Ghana, to follow up on a promise made during their previous visit. Led by Mr. Clement Boamah, the head teacher of the school, the community welcomed the team with warmth and gratitude.
During the earlier visit, Mr. Boamah had shared some of the pressing challenges the school faces—chief among them being the payment of teachers, lack of kitchen facilities, and access to clean water. The team responded by purchasing a few essential items, which have already made a noticeable difference. However, as Mr. Boamah emphasized, “There’s more to be done.”
Challenges and Needs
In a candid conversation, Mr. Boamah highlighted the most immediate challenges:
- Teacher salaries remain a major concern.
- The school kitchen is in dire need of support.
- Access to clean water is still a dream, with hopes of constructing a borehole to serve the school and surrounding community.
On the academic front, the school urgently needs textbooks, exercise books, drawing materials, and digital learning tools. Of all these, Mr. Boamah stressed that textbooks are the most crucial, especially as the school embraces practical and creative learning methods like soap-making and arts and crafts.
A Step Toward Digital Learning
In response to these needs, Uhuru for All donated four tablets to the school. These devices will help students connect to the internet and explore digital learning resources. The tablets were formally presented to the Community Head, who received them on behalf of the school and the entire community.
“Even this small one you have started with, more will come. If you look at our building, it is written: ‘Little drop of water makes a mighty ocean.’ What you have given to us, we will take it and do many things with it. God bless you,” said the Community Head.
The tablets were entrusted to the teachers, with the hope that they will be used effectively to enhance teaching and learning. The children, filled with joy, echoed their gratitude: “Thank you! God bless you!”’

Looking Ahead
This visit marks another step in a growing partnership between Uhuru for All and Jusbua Educational Centre. The hope is to continue supporting the school with more resources, including additional tablets, textbooks, and infrastructure improvements.
As Mr. Sidiq and the Uhuru team emphasized, “We’re starting small, but we believe in the ripple effect. Every child deserves the tools to learn, grow, and dream.”
