Supporting Education and Vocational Training: A Visit to Gomoa Wassa

On May 26, 2025, Mr. Abdul Sidiq, founder of Uhuru For All, along with his dedicated team, visited a deprived school in the central region of Ghana, located in Gomoa Wassa (Jusbua Educational Centre). This visit was not just about the donation of supplies but also about making a meaningful impact in the lives of the children, teachers, and the local community. The purpose of the visit was twofold: to donate essential resources to support the children’s education and to engage with the local staff and the assembly member to understand the core challenges faced by the community.

A Gift of Technology and Support for Education

Uhuru For All, a nonprofit organization based in the United States with a deep commitment to supporting the deprived in Africa, recognizes the importance of education in shaping the future of young people. During the visit, Mr. Abdul Sidiq and his team donated a number of tablets to the school, aimed at enhancing the learning experience of the children. These tablets are expected to open doors to digital learning, providing students with access to educational resources that may have otherwise been out of reach.

While the donation of tablets is a step in the right direction, it’s clear that much more is needed to ensure these children receive the education they deserve. The tablets are a valuable resource, but they alone cannot overcome all the challenges faced by the school. From limited access to other educational tools to the scarcity of qualified teachers and adequate facilities, there is still a long road ahead.

Building the Future: Support for School Infrastructure

In addition to the donation of educational tools, the Uhuru For All also assisted in providing materials for the building and renovation of the school. While these materials were certainly helpful, they are not enough to meet the full extent of the school’s infrastructure needs. The school’s physical space, in many areas, still requires significant repairs and upgrades to create a safe and conducive environment for learning.

Education is not just about books and lessons but about creating a space that fosters growth, creativity, and well-being. Uhuru for all contribution to improving the school’s infrastructure is just the beginning, but much more is required to make it a truly supportive environment for the children.

Vocational Skills for a Better Future

One of the most inspiring aspects of the visit was the involvement of the school’s visionary teacher, who is not only committed to educating the children academically but also equips them with vital vocational skills. The teacher’s focus is on developing the students’ hands-on abilities, including the creation of herbal medicinal soap, creams, and other products. This vocational training adds a layer of practical learning that helps children develop entrepreneurial skills and an understanding of the importance of self-sufficiency.

However, the vocational training program, while a great start, also faces limitations. There is a need for more resources, such as materials, workshops, and tools, to ensure that the students can continue learning these valuable skills and improve their lives in the long term.

A Call for Support: Helping Africa’s Future Leaders

Despite these significant strides, the school and its students face numerous challenges. Mr. Abdul Sidiq and his team are calling on individuals, organizations, and businesses to step forward and offer support. The children in Gomoa Wassa have big dreams and a desire to make meaningful contributions to society, but they need a little help to realize these aspirations.

While the donations from Uhuru For All have been impactful, they are not enough to meet the growing needs of the school. The children need more support in terms of infrastructure, learning resources, vocational tools, and teachers’ development. Whether it’s through donations, volunteer work, or partnerships, every contribution can make a difference in the lives of these future leaders.

The Uhuru For All encourages those who have the ability to help to join their mission of supporting education, vocational training, and community development in Ghana and across Africa.

Mr. Abdul Sidiq’s visit to the school in Gomoa Wassa represents a beacon of hope for many children who are striving to build a better future. With the support of generous individuals and organizations, we can continue to provide these children with the resources, education, and vocational skills they need to achieve their dreams. While the support from Uhuru For All has made a difference, the needs are still vast, and the community requires more assistance to truly thrive.
